History
In January 2002, Mountainside Church started as a Spanish non-denominational church under the name of Centro Cristiano Emanuel in the northeast part of El Paso, Texas by a group of believers including Pastor-Teacher Joe Perez.
The church began in a residential garage and after 5 months, the church then moved to a storefront location at McCombs Shopping Center.
The church leased for 11 years until God provided a church-owned location at 9931 McCombs Street.
The church has been conducting Spanish services for almost 8 years. In March 2020, the church decided to move from Spanish to English services, changing the name from Centro Cristiano Emanuel to Mountainside Church.
The church places great importance in the practice of expository teaching, a "verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book" approach in teaching the Bible. Mountainside Church is committed to preaching-teaching Scripture and active service to one another in grace, mercy and love.
