ABOUT MOUNTAINSIDE CHURCH
We are a church of believers who love God, love others, disciple and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. We place great importance in the teaching of Scripture. Our desire is to be filled with the knowledge of God so that with the help of the Spirit of God, we may walk in a manner that is worthy and pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ,and in doing so, we may bear fruit in every good work.
LOVE GOD
In the Bible, Jesus tells us how to love God: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind,” (Luke 10:27). In other words, God wants us to love Him with our whole being and in every possible way. God wants us to love Him exclusively above all other things and beings.
LOVE OTHERS
Jesus said the second greatest command is to love others. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). It is impossible to genuinely love the Lord without loving other people, for God’s heart is to love others.
DISCIPLE OTHERS
Matthew 28:19–20 contains what has come to be called the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” We are called to go and make disciples by baptizing and teaching what the Lord has commanded.
PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16). The gospel is a powerful message, because it is God’s good news. It is a saving message and therefore the only thing that can truly reform the human heart. It is a universal message for Jews and Gentiles both. And the gospel is received by faith alone for salvation is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8–9).
